CAFCL: Esperance kvalificerede sig til semifinalen

Tunisia-Tribune (Qualified Esperance) – Beaten (0-2) in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League against CR Belouizdad, Esperance Sportif de Tunis ensured his qualification for the last four by beating his Algerian opponent on penalties, following a victory (2-0) in Radès.

Mute in the first period, the Sang et Or put intensity into their game and they managed to catch up. First Abderraouf Benguit, who entered the second half, opened the scoring in the 68th minute before the inevitable Mohamed Ali ben Romdhane scored the second goal on a curling marvel (87th).

At (2-2) over the whole of the two meetings, the two teams played a penalty shoot-out to decide between themselves and it is Mouine Chaâbani’s men who will be the most skilful by winning (3- 2) thanks in particular to Farouk Ben Mustapha, author of two decisive saves.

EST will face defending champion Al Ahly in the semifinals, who qualified at Sundowns’ expense.
